The anti-intellectual movement has been sweeping the globe for over a decade now.
They usually portray themselves as being "people-centred" or "inclusive" or "humanist" and then oppose thinking because it's too complicated for "real people" to understand.
You can usually find them dumbing something down to the point where it is worthless.
